LCRCA are looking to commission 1 to 3 community organisations along the 10A bus corridor, projects will be delivered in Knowsley, Liverpool and St. Helens and will work with residents on a project as described below.Groundswell are social researchers based in Liverpool and Edinburgh Universities, they work with communities on improving their local surroundings which in turn increases their general feelings of improved health and wellbeing.What is the LCRCA/GroundsWell project?Liverpool City Region Combined Authority are beginning work to introduce the Green Bus Routes programme along the 10A bus corridor. &nbsp;The 10A bus routes runs through Liverpool, St. Helen&rsquo;s and Knowsley. As part of this work, LCRCA are looking to also improve local outdoor spaces that run along the 10A bus route. It is important to the LCRCA that the voices of local communities are heard, particularly those who do not often get the opportunity to contribute to these kinds of decisions. To deliver this project, the LCRCA will work with GroundsWell, a group of researchers and community organisations based in Liverpool, Edinburgh, and Belfast, who are looking at ways to make outdoor spaces more useable for members of the community. In partnership with LCRCA, GroundsWell researchers would like to work with local community organisations to find areas in and around bus stops along the 10A bus route that would benefit from improvements, such as flower planting or greening. In this initial project, GroundsWell researchers would like to work closely with a local community organisation to gather information on local people&rsquo;s views on their local outdoors spaces and identify ways that they can be improved for the wider benefit of the community.What will your organisation&rsquo;s participation involve?If you would like to be involved in this project, you would work closely with the GroundsWell research team to help them collect information from local community members who participate in existing programmes offered by your organisation. Specifically, taking part would involve the following:Help us reach the people we want to speak to - As you will have good connections to local communities, and to groups who are often underrepresented in research projects (such as socially disadvantaged groups, ethnic minorities, and parents of under 5&rsquo;s), we would welcome your help in recruiting community members to take part in this small project. This will involve distributing information sheets/consent forms on behalf of the research team to potential participants and returning completed forms to GroundsWell researchers.Attend training on using data collection tools - In order to collect information on what local people think of these outdoor spaces, we will use a mixture of short, easy to use surveys, and a mobile app that lets people rate the quality of an outdoor space. GroundsWell will offer training to staff/volunteers of your organisation in using these tools before the project commences, which is likely to be a short 1&ndash;2-hour workshop.Collect data with community groups- As the staff and volunteers at your organisation will be likely to know and be trusted by local community members, your help in assisting with the data collection for this project would be very helpful to the research team. With assistance from GroundsWell researchers, staff/volunteers from your organisation will use the data collection tools with community members, so that we can gather information on how local people feel about the outdoor spaces this project will address. This will involve two stages:Stage 1: Will involve a brief (1 hr 30 mins) interactive workshop with local community members, to identify high priority outdoor spaces that need improvements. We would look to involve around 10-20 individuals in this workshop.Stage 2: Will involve using the survey data collection tools with local community members in these identified areas, to gather information from them about why these areas need improved, and how this can be achieved. &nbsp;We would aim to collect data from around 20-40 individuals using these surveys.Help us recruit people to take part in interviews- GroundsWell is also interested in speaking to a small number of community members by interviewing them about their feelings of the outdoor spaces identified for improvement in the project. This will allow is to get more detailed information that is not possible from using surveys alone. We would like to speak to around ten individuals, and we would rely on your help to identify people to speak to, distribute information sheets/consent forms, and return these to us. We would aim to interview around 8-15 people. What benefits could taking part in the project have for your organisation?&nbsp;Help improve the local community- It is hoped that the results of this project can be used to help make improvements to areas along the 10A bus route that local people have had meaningful involvement in.Create longer term partnerships with GroundsWell and LCRCA- Involvement in this initial project will create more opportunities to work with both LCRCA and GroundsWell to potentially co-design projects and improvements in outdoors spaces around the Liverpool City Region.&nbsp;Training in evaluation for staff and volunteers-&nbsp;The training provided in conducting the data collection procedures will hopefully be of benefit to your organisation&rsquo;s staff and volunteers and give them new skills in service evaluation that can be used for other projects they work on.Funding linked to the projectEach of the 3 projects will be provided with &pound;1000 When will the project be delivered?This project will begin in January 2023, and end in February 2023. The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCRCA) is looking to commission one or more member/members of the Community Suppliers Network (CSN), formerly the Community Suppliers List, to arrange four focus groups and recruit community suppliers in the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Sefton, Halton, St Helens, Knowsley, Wirral) to participate. We are interested in speaking to a mixture of CSN members and non-members and want to discuss with them networking opportunities and means of fundraising.&nbsp;&nbsp;Background&nbsp;The CSN is a group of local voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSE) that are available to conduct engagement and research work on behalf of the LCRCA and its partners. It has largely been used to reach out to seldom heard communities within the City Region where direct engagement with the LCRCA has proven difficult. It also allows the CA to distribute funds to third sector organisations that provide invaluable services to the city region.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are currently reviewing the CSN offering and want to get a better understanding of how current members of the CSN found the network, how the offering could be improved, preferred methods of communication and networking opportunities. In addition to this, we also want to speak with non-CSN members to understand levels of interest in being commissioned,&nbsp;funding&nbsp;opportunities and the&nbsp;desire to engage with other community suppliers.&nbsp;The aim of the engagement:&nbsp;The purpose of the focus groups is to inform and define the future direction of the CSN. We want to understand the wants and needs of community suppliers so we can provide more support to these organisations by way of commissioning opportunities, networking, and additional membership benefits. The ideas and issues raised in the focus groups will help the LCRCA prioritise updates to the network.&nbsp;&nbsp;What we&rsquo;d like you to deliver:&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;successful applicant&nbsp;will&nbsp;arrange four,&nbsp;hour-long, in person&nbsp;focus groups with VCSE organisations in the Liverpool City Region&nbsp;(Liverpool, Sefton, Halton, St Helens, Knowsley, Wirral)&nbsp;between&nbsp;16th-27th January 2023. The successful applicant will be given access to the current CSN and addition information on which organisations have been commissioned to help select attendees for group 1. The engagement and research team at the CA will be responsible for conducting the focus groups and analysing the results.&nbsp;Participant&nbsp;requirements:&nbsp;The organisations you select must be a registered charity with the&nbsp;<a class="fr-strong" data-uw-rm-brl="pending" data-uw-rm-ext-link="" href="https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Charity Commission</a>&nbsp;and operate within the Liverpool City Region (Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, Halton). St Helens Bus proposals

We are looking to revise and improve the 152 (St Helens &ndash; Ormskirk) and the 315 (Southport &ndash; Ormskirk) services by combining both into one through journey, providing a direct link from St Helens to Southport via Ormskirk.Service 153 ( St Helens - Eccleston) is proposed to revise times, with a later start but also an additional journey at the end of the afternoon.&nbsp;We would like to hear your feedback about how the proposed new timetables may affect any journeys that you currently make.&nbsp;

Liverpool City Centre Bus Re-routing: A Review

In Summer 2019, we asked bus users in Liverpool City Centre for their feedback on proposals to reroute services in the city centre in response to Liverpool City Council&#39;s &pound;45m City Centre Connectivity Scheme (LCCCS). Over 13,000 people viewed the proposals and nearly 2,000 comments were received.&nbsp;The scheme aims to make the city a cleaner, greener, more attractive place by changing how traffic moves through the city centre and making walking and cycling more attraction options. Changes to infrastructure and road layout resulted in differences to how some buses travelled around the centre from January 2021, with amended boarding and alighting locations. We would now like to reflect on the impact these changes have had to your travel experience across the city centre.&nbsp;

Green Bus Routes (GBR) - Digitally Excluded project 

An opportunity to deliver survey provision to specific audiences living alongside the 10A bus route in Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens.&nbsp;We are looking for community / voluntary organisations to provide support to digitally excluded individuals and small groups to complete an online engagement tool (SNAP surveys) during January - February 2023, to ensure they can view <a data-uw-rm-brl="pending" href="https://lcrlistens.commonplace.is/en-GB/proposals/green-bus-routes/step1">Green Bus Routes</a> project proposals and have the chance to comment on them once the survey is live late in January.&nbsp;Closing date for applications is 9am, 7th December.
